Issues

SECRET BALLOT VOTING

Has significant critical flaws

Is no longer relevant in a modern developed society

VOTER INADEQUACY

Low voter knowledge level of issues

Lack of interest and time for voters to become sufficiently knowledgeable of issues

Growing complexity and quantity of issues beyond knowledge level of average voter

LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY

No criminal or civil liability by elected representatives

ABUSE OF SYSTEM

Secrecy, specifically ‘in national interests’ (i.e. terrorism) is a leading contributor to the demise of the current democratic system as it will always promote abuse of the system due to greediness in human nature (which in turn can never be eliminated, it must be accepted and openly exposed for public judgment)

LACK OF REPRESENTATION

• True representation of citizens in the current political system is almost non-existent, only a symbolic level has been left

• The rest has been replaced by the interests of big business (through lobbyists) in the form of unlimited and undisclosed campaign contributions (when limited to a “small” portion of a businesses overall revenue, however, revenues of large multinationals allow essentially unlimited and unreported contributions of hundreds of millions of dollars)

Citizens are no longer in control of the political system, but the political system is in control of citizens
